Biodynamic garden, Camserney

26 February 202430 March 2024 By Donna

Since May 2014 we have worked to nurture and convert an acre of donated land in Camserney, Perthshire, into a vibrant biodynamic garden growing vegetables, herbs and flowers.

We also promote an understanding of innovative, biodynamic methods and provide vulnerable people in our community with the skills, support and space to train, volunteer and work.

In the process the voluntary work team is creating a beautiful and peaceful space for local people to be and tourists to visit enjoying all the wildlife in the garden.

We are committed to helping our local communities to eat well and to have a choice in the fresh food they can buy locally as well as promoting biodynamic gardening as an environmentally sustainable choice: ‘chemical free’ with a long term vision for land and garden

We have found markets for our produce through the Aberfeldy Farmers markets and Tayside Food and Drink Festival. In April 2018 we successfully launched a local vegetable box scheme: SOSA Simply Organic Supplies Aberfeldy, which is still expanding its membership.  At the moment we are providing more than 30 families in our community with organic veg box.

We have also provided volunteering opportunities for people from the Wellbeing Support Team and people recovering from an illness who are interested in gardening. We have delivered three workshops on Biodynamic Preparations.
The Biodynamic Garden Camserney has been supported by the Climate Challenge Fund;  the Enchanted Forest;
Dull and Weem Community Council; Humanos Aid International; Mid Atholl Community Council and BarHaul.
