Our allotment site has been in existence since the 1940s when the need arose to grow your own for the war effort.Originally farmland, the allotments have evolved over the years to the present day where we now have 71 plots of assorted sizes in use. The Association manages the site, which is leased from Dundee City Council; our purpose is to promote the growing of fruit and vegetables, to manage the site to promote a community spirit among members and to protect and enhance the environment.
The Association is managed by a formally elected committee – elections are held each October at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The committee is made up of volunteer, unpaid members who all have families, jobs, plots, and occasionally lives. All members can stand for election and the committee actively encourages members to become involved either as elected members or as co-opted members.
