About PLANT

People Learning About Nature in Tayport (PLANT) is a subgroup of Tayport Community Trust.

Since 2011, PLANT has been working on projects bringing people together to grow food and flowers, while reducing carbon emissions and enhancing Tayport’s natural environment.

PLANT is part of Tayport Community Trust (Charity Number SC042558) Together we aim to promote food growing and biodiversity in Tayport. We can do this by; Educating ourselves, each other and the community; (networking ideas and experience amongst ourselves, arranging community workshops, going to relevant workshops) Establishing a Community Garden and Allotments in the town. Planting Fruit and useful native trees in Tayport. Along the way we will meet new people and gain friendships Benefit our health with fresh air, exercise and fresh food Help the environment Have fun, enjoyment and a sense of achievement.
